Price your actual prescription
For strong prescription glasses online, compare complete configurations. Two shops can advertise similar starting prices while quoting different lens materials, coatings and prescription ranges. Use the same prescription and options in both comparisons.
At Fast Eyeglasses, everyday base pairs start at $79 with standard CR-39 single-vision lenses. Polycarbonate adds $15 and high-index 1.67 adds $45. Standard anti-reflective coating adds $35; Crizal Easy adds $50. Those optional prices are separate from the stronger-prescription calculation.
A material’s name alone does not establish the finished thickness or weight of your pair. Ask for guidance using the actual prescription and frame choice. Our lens-material comparison explains the choices more broadly.
Understand the stronger-prescription charge
Our checkout adds $5 per extra diopter per lens beyond ±4.00 SPH or 3.00 CYL. Fractional diopters are prorated. The calculation considers the sphere and cylinder amounts beyond their respective thresholds for each eye.
For example, SPH of -5.00 in both eyes with no cylinder beyond the threshold produces two extra diopters in total, adding $10. An everyday $79 base pair would be $89 before other upgrades; with the $45 high-index 1.67 option it would be $134.
That example illustrates pricing, not a lens recommendation or a promise that every prescription can be filled. If your prescription has values outside the checkout choices, an ADD or prism, contact us before ordering. We currently offer eligible single-vision correction only.
Choose the frame before judging lens appearance
Compare dimensions, bridge style and overall fit with a pair that you already wear comfortably. Keep the frame shortlist manageable so you can ask useful questions about each candidate.
Do not buy an oversized frame just because the product photograph looks impressive, or a very small one simply because somebody called it best for a strong prescription. Your prescribed lens and the frame need to work together. An optician can help assess the combination.
Use our frame-size comparison guide for the measurement question and our high-index ordering information for the available option.
Check the total before authorizing payment
Enter the full prescription and PD, select the actual lens material and coating, then check the total. Keep a note of which additions are included so you can compare another quote fairly.
If you upload the prescription instead of typing it, ask about any stronger-prescription charge before relying on the displayed base total. The checkout cannot read the numbers from a photograph. A clear prescription still needs review.
Read return and remake terms and shipping information. Most basic pairs ship within two business days; transit follows. Save the quote and order configuration rather than a screenshot of a headline price.
Questions about ordering
Does the $79 price cover every prescription strength?
Applicable stronger-prescription charges are extra, as are optional materials and coatings. Check the total for your actual prescription.
Is high-index 1.67 required for every strong prescription?
This guide does not make that recommendation. Ask about suitable lens choices using the actual prescription and frame you are considering.
