Prescription accuracy & remake policy

We make your lenses exactly to the prescription and PD you give us. Please double-check every number: we can't offer free remakes for prescription or PD errors made at checkout.

Your prescription, your responsibility

When you order prescription glasses online, you enter your own SPH, CYL, Axis and PD, or upload a photo of your prescription. By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • The prescription is a current, unexpired eyeglass prescription (not a contact lens prescription) from a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist.
  • It's for the person who will wear the glasses.
  • It's a single vision prescription. We don't make bifocal, progressive or prism lenses.
  • The numbers and PD you entered are correct.

Not sure how to read it? See how to read your eyeglass prescription and how to measure your PD.

Zero free remakes for prescription or PD errors

We make your lenses exactly as ordered. We don't remake glasses for free, refund or exchange them when the problem comes from:

  • A typo, a missing minus sign, swapped right and left eyes, or a wrong axis entered at checkout
  • A wrong or estimated PD
  • An expired prescription, or a prescription that changed after your exam
  • Ordering single vision lenses for a prescription that needs bifocals, progressives or prism
  • Using a contact lens prescription instead of an eyeglass prescription
  • A different doctor's prescription or re-exam showing different numbers

You're welcome to place a new order with the corrected numbers at the regular price.

How we help you get it right

  • Upload your prescription. If you upload a photo or PDF, we compare it with the numbers you typed. If they don't match, we email you to confirm before your lenses are made, and we use the numbers you confirm.
  • Unusual numbers get a second look. Our checkout flags a PD or prescription that looks unusual, and we may email you to double-check.
  • Ask us first. If you're unsure about anything on your prescription, email us before you order.

Free remakes for our mistakes

If your lenses don't match the prescription and PD on your order beyond standard optical tolerances (ANSI Z80.1), that's our error and we'll remake them at no cost. Email us within 14 days of delivery. We may ask you to have the lenses checked by an optician or eye doctor and send us the results. See the full return & refund policy.

Getting used to new glasses

New glasses, a new prescription, a new frame shape or a new lens material can feel different for 1 to 2 weeks: slight distortion, a "fishbowl" effect or mild eye strain. That's normal and isn't a lens error. If things still don't feel right after two weeks of full-time wear, have your eye doctor check your prescription.

We don't provide eye exams

Fasteyeglasses.com sells eyeglasses made to the prescription you provide. We don't examine eyes, write prescriptions or give medical advice. Get regular eye exams from a licensed eye care professional.

Common questions

What if I entered my prescription wrong?

Lenses are made from the numbers you submit, so there are no free remakes for prescription or PD errors made at checkout. You can order new lenses as a new order at full price. Uploading a photo of your prescription helps us catch typos before your lenses are made.

What if the lab made my lenses wrong?

If your lenses don't match the prescription and PD on your order beyond standard tolerances, we'll remake them free. Email us within 14 days of delivery.

Do you check my prescription before making my glasses?

Yes. We review every order. If you upload a photo of your prescription and it doesn't match what you typed, or a number looks unusual, we'll email you to confirm before your lenses are made.
