"How long does it take to get glasses?" depends on where you order and what you order. At many optical shops, new prescription glasses take a week or two, and sometimes longer for special lenses. With us, most single vision glasses are made in one business day and delivered 1 to 2 business days after they ship.
Our timeline, day by day
Our lab works Monday through Friday and takes orders for same-day production until 5 p.m. Eastern. Here's what to expect for a typical single vision order:
| You order | Glasses made by | Usually arrive |
|---|---|---|
| Monday by 5 p.m. | Tuesday | Wednesday or Thursday |
| Wednesday by 5 p.m. | Thursday | Friday or Monday |
| Friday by 5 p.m. | Monday | Tuesday or Wednesday |
| Friday night or weekend | Tuesday | Wednesday or Thursday |
These are typical times, not guarantees. Very strong prescriptions, high-index or Transitions lenses, backordered frames, or a prescription we need to confirm can add time.
Why glasses take longer at many stores
Many optical shops send orders to an outside lab, wait for a batch to ship back, then call you to come in for pickup. Each step adds days. Some stores offer glasses in about an hour, but usually only for a limited selection of frames and lenses, and often at a higher price.
How to get your glasses faster
- Order on a weekday before 5 p.m. Eastern.
- Upload a photo of your prescription along with your typed numbers, so we don't have to email you to confirm.
- Know your PD. If it's not on your prescription, measure your PD at home.
- Pick an in-stock frame and standard or polycarbonate lenses.
