Same frame for clear glasses and prescription sunglasses: compare two pairs

A familiar frame can work as a starting point for two different lens configurations. Confirm the details separately for each pair.

Small details worth checking before ordering.

Match the exact model and size

If you want the same frame for clear glasses and prescription sunglasses, record the model, color and size you intend to order. A similar frame name or front-view photograph is not proof that two listings have the same dimensions.

Check current stock and the available lens choices for that frame. Matching a familiar style can simplify the comparison, but it does not guarantee an identical feel once the lenses and adjustments differ.

Use a comfortable existing pair as your reference. Our frame-fit comparison explains why bridge design and temple shape belong beside the printed size numbers.

Build two separate lens configurations

For the clear pair, choose the prescribed lens, material and any coating you actually want. For the sunglass pair, review the tint and other options independently. Do not assume a saved frame choice automatically carries over every lens selection.

Confirm that both pairs are intended for the same prescribed viewing task before using the same prescription for them. A dedicated reading pair and a distance sunglass pair are not interchangeable configurations. Contact us about orders needing different task prescriptions.

Fast Eyeglasses offers eligible corrective single-vision lenses only. Ask about polarized availability separately, and confirm the actual UV specifications before choosing sunglasses. We do not currently offer fully nonprescription plano pairs.

Compare the two complete prices

For everyday $79 base pairs with no other additions, one clear pair is $79 and one pair with the $20 solid-tint option is $99. Together those examples total $178, before other upgrades or applicable stronger-prescription charges.

A shared frame style does not create a two-pair discount. Price each configuration using the actual material, coating and prescription. Our complete-price guide helps compare the quote fairly.

If your priority is switching without carrying another complete pair, our sunglasses and clip-on comparison explains that alternative. Fast Eyeglasses does not sell clip-on accessories.

Check the cart line by line

Before checkout, verify that there are two intended pairs and that each line shows the correct color, size and lens choices. Similar names make it easy to overlook a duplicated configuration.

Keep a case available for the pair you are not wearing. Read the custom prescription return policy: style and fit returns are not accepted. Ask about any uncertain option before custom lenses are made.

Most basic pairs ship within two business days, then carrier transit follows. We currently ship to Michigan, Delaware, Oregon and Montana. A shared order is not a promise that every optional configuration has identical preparation timing.

Common buying questions

Does using the same frame give me a two-pair discount?

No two-pair discount is promised here. Compare the complete price of each actual configuration.

Can I use a reading prescription for the sunglass pair too?

Confirm the prescribed task with your provider. Do not substitute a reading prescription for a distance pair or assume both tasks use the same numbers.
