Loose Glasses Screw? A Montana Repair-or-Replace Checklist

A loose hinge or missing screw can turn a usable pair into a frustrating one. The first useful step is to identify the problem and keep the pieces together, not to order an unfamiliar screw or bend the frame until it seems right. This Montana checklist helps you prepare for repair advice and compare a replacement only if it is actually needed.

Start with these details

Original planning suggestions. Follow the venue, workplace and product instructions that apply to your situation.

Describe what changed

Note whether an arm feels loose, a screw is missing or the frame has been bent or cracked. A photo and the model information can help the person assessing it understand the situation. Describe what happened instead of assuming every loose arm needs the same part.

If the glasses no longer sit securely or the damage makes them unsuitable for the task, do not rely on a makeshift adjustment. Ask an appropriate optical repair provider about assessment and a safe next step.

Keep small parts from disappearing

Place any recovered screw or other small part in a secure container with the frame. Keep these items away from young children. A bag pocket shared with coins and keys can make a tiny piece much harder to recover.

Avoid glue, forced bending or an unknown replacement part as a shortcut. The hinge, rim and frame material matter. This guide does not identify the correct screw or provide a universal repair procedure.

Check the existing warranty first

Read the seller’s warranty before paying for a replacement. Fast Eyeglasses publishes a 90-day frame manufacturing-defect warranty with specific exclusions; accidental damage and other causes are treated differently. Coverage cannot be decided from the word “loose” alone.

When contacting a seller, include your order reference, photos and a description of the issue. Do not post prescription documents or personal order details in a public comment thread to obtain repair advice.

Compare replacement with the right scope

A local repair and a new complete prescription pair are different purchases. The current Fast Eyeglasses checkout does not sell lens-only or frame-only orders. A complete pair may not be the cheapest or quickest answer to a minor repairable problem.

If replacement is appropriate, recheck the prescription, PD and measurements rather than copying an old order without review. Most basic pairs ship within two business days, with delivery afterward; the store does not promise an immediate local repair service.

COUPON20: the second-pair details

Buy at least two complete pairs in the same order to save 20% on one lowest-priced eligible pair, including selected upgrades but excluding prescription-strength charges. The same savings apply automatically; the code does not add a second discount, and Fast Cash does not stack. Current checkout uses one prescription per order. Contact us first for different prescriptions or wearers.

Custom glasses are final sale for change of mind, customer-selected fit and entered prescription/PD errors; published remedies apply to qualifying lab errors, defects and shipping damage. Read the return policy.

Two useful questions

Can I use any screw that seems to fit?

This guide cannot identify a compatible part. Ask a suitable repair provider rather than forcing an unknown screw.

Does a loose hinge automatically qualify for warranty coverage?

No. The cause, timing and published warranty conditions need to be assessed.
