Notice the contact without forcing the frame
If your glasses touch your eyelashes, note when it happens: during an ordinary blink, after the frame slides, or only with your usual eye makeup. Those details help an optician understand the physical fit question.
Check whether the glasses sit in their normal position. Do not push them into an uncomfortable spot to manufacture clearance or repeatedly bend them yourself. A fit assessment can be more useful than immediately replacing a pair that needs adjustment.
This guide is about comparing frames. It does not diagnose irritation or other eye symptoms; seek appropriate care for persistent symptoms rather than treating a frame purchase as the answer.
Printed size numbers do not describe all the clearance
Lens width, bridge width and temple length help compare frames, but they do not fully describe where the lens will sit relative to your eyes. Two frames with the same numbers can have different bridge shapes and side profiles.
Look at the side photograph and bridge design as well as the front view. Ask for missing information instead of assuming that a larger lens or a wider bridge automatically creates the clearance you need.
Our frame-number guide explains the printed dimensions, and our low-bridge fit guide covers a related fit comparison.
Separate adjustment from buying a different design
Ask an optician whether the existing frame can be adjusted appropriately and whether its bridge design suits you. Some designs offer adjustable nose pads; that feature alone does not guarantee a particular fit on your face.
Do not use heat, remove frame parts or bend the arms sharply to chase a small clearance change. If you need a different design, explain which contact point you are trying to avoid before choosing it.
An anti-reflective coating or blue-light filter does not change the arm shape or bridge position. Keep lens-option decisions separate from the fit question.
Resolve uncertain fit before a custom order
Start with a pair that does fit well when possible and compare its measurements and profile with the shortlist. Our current-pair comparison guide helps organize those details.
Fast Eyeglasses does not promise that a particular frame never touches eyelashes. Ask questions before paying, especially if your usual pair has a persistent clearance problem. An online photograph cannot prove the finished fit on your face.
Read the custom prescription return terms before ordering from the frame catalog. Style and fit returns are not accepted for custom pairs. A deliberate fit decision belongs before lens manufacture.
Common buying questions
Will a bigger lens always stop eyelash contact?
No. Lens size alone does not establish how the frame sits on your face. Compare the bridge, profile and adjustment with an optician’s help.
Will anti-glare coating create more clearance?
No. A lens coating does not change the frame’s physical position or bridge design.
