Glasses for Restaurant Servers: A Michigan Shift Checklist
A restaurant shift can move from a reservation screen to printed tickets, table numbers and a busy dining room. Choosing glasses for that work starts with your actual prescription and tasks, not a frame that claims to be made for every server. Here is a practical checklist for Michigan restaurant workers planning an everyday pair.

Start with these details
| Task | Question to bring to the comparison |
|---|---|
| Reservation or ordering screen | What viewing distance is this? |
| Carrying and moving | Does the familiar frame stay comfortable? |
| Cleaning | Where can a clean cloth and case be kept? |
Map the tasks before choosing lenses
Write down which things you read during a normal shift: a handheld device, a fixed screen, a printed order or signs across the room. Those are different viewing situations. Share that task list with your eye-care professional if you are uncertain which prescribed correction is suitable.
Do not choose a stronger reading number just because a receipt is small. Fast Eyeglasses makes corrective single-vision pairs through its current checkout; it does not offer a progressive or bifocal solution for several distances in one pair.
Compare the frame you actually wear
Use a comfortable pair as a reference for lens width, bridge width and temple length. Check whether it stays in place when looking down or turning normally. Measurements help with comparison but cannot guarantee an identical fit across different models.
Think about anything else worn on the job, such as a headset or uniform cap. Do not bend the frame to force compatibility during a shopping experiment. Ask for help if the existing fit is uncomfortable.
Create a service-friendly storage routine
Choose a clean, permitted location for your case and cloth that fits the restaurant’s own hygiene and storage rules. Keep lens-care supplies separate from food and service equipment. Follow the supplied lens-care instructions rather than using a surface-cleaning product from the workplace.
If the lenses become obstructed or the frame is damaged, deal with it in a suitable break area according to workplace procedures. No lens upgrade removes the need for a usable, properly maintained pair.
Compare the whole pair price
An everyday $79 base pair with standard anti-glare at $35 is $114 before prescription-strength charges. Adding polycarbonate at $15 makes that example $129. These are price examples, not recommendations that every server needs those options.
Use the cost calculator to compare the configurations you are considering, then check availability and the custom-order policy on the actual frame page. Free shipping is available to Michigan and the other three supported states; processing time is separate from delivery.

COUPON20: the second-pair details
Buy at least two complete pairs in the same order to save 20% on one lowest-priced eligible pair, including selected upgrades but excluding prescription-strength charges. The same savings apply automatically; the code does not add a second discount, and Fast Cash does not stack. Current checkout uses one prescription per order. Contact us first for different prescriptions or wearers.
Custom glasses are final sale for change of mind, customer-selected fit and entered prescription/PD errors; published remedies apply to qualifying lab errors, defects and shipping damage. Read the return policy.
Two useful questions
Are ordinary glasses workplace protective eyewear?
No protective rating should be assumed from ordinary frames or a lens-material choice. Follow the employer’s requirements for the task.
Does anti-glare prevent steam or condensation?
Anti-glare and anti-fog are different. The current anti-glare options do not promise fog prevention.
