Start with the familiar pair
Use the glasses your child is comfortable wearing. Photo day is not a useful deadline for introducing a frame that pinches or slides. Let the child try the outfit and glasses together the evening before, including any headband or hairstyle that could press against the temples.
Pack the small essentials
Put the case and an appropriate lens cloth in the school bag. Follow the lens-care instructions rather than wiping with costume fabric or a rough sleeve. Tell the child where the case is so a removed pair is less likely to disappear into a pocket.
Keep the photograph natural
Let the photographer manage lighting and reflections. Do not ask a child to tolerate an uncomfortable position to make a frame look different. If glasses are part of daily life, the photograph can celebrate that. A favorite color or simple outfit can make the morning feel more personal.
Plan replacements without rushing
For a future pair, collect the current prescription, measured fitting information and frame dimensions before shopping. Children’s fitting questions deserve professional help. A school-photo deadline should not become a reason to guess a PD or accept a poorly fitting frame.
