Ordering Reading-Only Glasses: Explain the Intended Use

A useful glasses purchase starts with a specific question. This guide helps you work through reading orders before you choose your next pair.

Describe the task first

Tell the dispensing professional what the glasses are for and the working distance involved. Reading a book and viewing a monitor across a desk are not identical tasks. A clear description is more useful than choosing an online category by its name alone.

Do not rewrite the prescription

If a prescription has an ADD or instructions you do not understand, request review rather than calculating a new power yourself. Fast Eyeglasses currently offers single vision, not bifocals or progressives. The correct response to an unclear document is clarification, not selecting the closest-looking checkout value.

Keep the PD context

Record whether a supplied measurement is for distance or near work. Our helper can organize the value or add separately measured right/left numbers, but it does not convert distance PD to reading PD. Do not use a fixed subtraction found online as a substitute for the required measurement.

Check before paying

Use the original prescription document and the wearer’s actual measured information. If the intended use, dates or instructions do not line up, send the order for review before payment. Keep the clarification with your order records so a future reorder has context.
