Eyeglass Lens Height: An Oregon Frame-Comparison Guide

Two frames can share the same printed width numbers and still have very different vertical shapes. Oregon online shoppers can use lens height as another comparison question without mistaking it for a prescription measurement or a complete fit guarantee.

Start with these details

QuestionWhat to check
Printed numbersUsually describe lens width, bridge and temple length.
Lens heightAdds information about the vertical lens opening.
Fitting measurementsDepend on the actual wearer and fitted frame.

Original planning suggestions. Follow the venue, workplace and product instructions that apply to your situation.

Know which dimension is missing

The familiar three-number sequence on a frame is not a complete diagram. A lens-width figure describes a horizontal dimension; it does not tell you whether the lens opening is shallow, tall, oval or strongly upswept.

Ask whether a listed lens-height value applies to the exact model and size you selected. Do not transfer a figure from another size or assume that two similarly named color variants have identical dimensions without checking.

Use an existing pair as a reference

Identify a comfortable pair and compare its overall vertical look with the proposed frame. A straight-on photograph can help you describe what looks different, especially around the lower lens edge.

If you make a rough home measurement, label it as your own comparison rather than a precise manufacturing specification. Ask the store how its measurement was defined before treating two numbers as directly equivalent.

Do not confuse height with fitting data

The vertical size of a lens opening is not automatically a pupil-height measurement for the wearer. Positioning the prescribed lenses involves the actual frame and wearer; do not calculate fitting information from a product thumbnail.

Fast Eyeglasses currently supplies corrective single-vision pairs, not progressive or bifocal checkout orders. A taller frame does not change that product scope, and it should not be purchased on the assumption that a different lens design will be added later.

Check the whole frame before buying

Compare bridge, temples, shape and the prescribed task as well as lens height. Notice where your current frame contacts the face, but get suitable fit help instead of bending it into a comparison shape.

Resolve missing specifications before checkout if they matter to your choice. Custom glasses follow the published final-sale terms for customer-selected fit; a second-pair offer does not substitute for checking both frames.

COUPON20: the second-pair details

Buy at least two complete pairs in the same order to save 20% on one lowest-priced eligible pair, including selected upgrades but excluding prescription-strength charges. The same savings apply automatically; the code does not add a second discount, and Fast Cash does not stack. Current checkout uses one prescription per order. Contact us first for different prescriptions or wearers.

Custom glasses are final sale for change of mind, customer-selected fit and entered prescription/PD errors; published remedies apply to qualifying lab errors, defects and shipping damage. Read the return policy.

Two useful questions

Does 52–18–140 include lens height?

That sequence normally represents lens width, bridge and temple length; ask for any additional dimension you need.

Is lens height the same as my pupil fitting height?

No. A frame opening dimension is not a wearer-specific fitting measurement.
