A pair for the road and a pair for a book can look identical in the shopping cart. Their intended use is not identical. When you buy glasses without trying them on, make the lens purpose explicit before you spend time comparing colors and coatings.
Name the activity in ordinary language
Write down the job of this pair: distance viewing, reading at the prescribed distance or another task your eye care professional has addressed. If you are unsure what your prescription supplies, ask the prescribing office. Do not decide from a product photograph or a label on an old case.
Keep a separate note for each pair if you are planning more than one order. A useful distinction is not simply “good glasses” and “backup glasses.” It is which prescription and task belong to each, so a spare actually backs up the job you need.
Do not create a reading prescription at checkout
An ADD or other instruction needs clarification when ordering from a single vision retailer. Fast asks customers with an ADD or unclear instructions to contact support before ordering. Do not perform your own conversion, remove fields or substitute values from a different document.
PD also needs to match the intended task. Use the wearer’s measured information, and ask for clarification when the document does not resolve which measurement applies. Fast does not derive reading PD by subtracting a fixed amount from distance PD. A convenient arithmetic shortcut is not a personal measurement.
Make the frame comparison serve the purpose
Once the prescription and task are clear, compare a suitable frame and the available options. Ask what the finished order is intended to do. A task-specific pair should not be assumed to serve every other distance or activity.
Fast makes single vision distance or reading glasses within its supported order scope. Browse with that purpose in mind, review the original prescription alongside the entered information and request review before payment when something conflicts. A clear purpose lets you make a clearer purchase—and gives you a meaningful way to identify the pair after it arrives.
