Passport Photos with Glasses: A Delaware Preparation Guide
For a U.S. passport photo, plan to remove your glasses. Delaware applicants follow federal photo rules, so prepare for the actual paper or online application process rather than relying on a casual portrait checklist.

Start with these details
| Check | A useful next step |
|---|---|
| Before the appointment | Check the official requirements for your application method. |
| During the photo | Remove glasses and do not rest them on your head. |
| After the photo | Check the image without digitally altering it. |
Use the federal rule, not a local rumor
The State Department instructs applicants to remove eyeglasses, sunglasses and tinted glasses for U.S. passport photos. Glasses should not be resting on the head. The rule applies to Delaware applicants just as it does elsewhere in the country.
The official paper-application guidance explains that someone who cannot remove glasses for medical reasons should include a signed doctor’s note. Read the current requirements for your own application and ask the passport authority about an unusual situation.
Prepare the ordinary photo-day details
Bring a suitable case and plan where to put the glasses while the photograph is taken. Tell the photographer if you need clear verbal directions while your glasses are off, so the setup can be explained calmly.
Keep the glasses-removal step separate from your normal daily wear. A passport photograph is a specific document requirement, not a recommendation to go without prescribed correction during travel or other tasks.
Keep the original image unchanged
The State Department requires an original, unedited photograph without filters or digital changes. Do not use an app or AI to erase glasses or alter the image into apparent compliance. Take a new appropriate photograph instead.
Paper applications and online renewal have different submission instructions. Follow the official page for the route you are actually using rather than assuming a printed-photo instruction covers a digital upload.
Make a separate travel-glasses list
After the document task, return to ordinary trip planning: familiar glasses, a suitable case and the care supplies your lenses require. Confirm any needed replacement pair with enough time for production and transit.
Fast Eyeglasses ships only to Michigan, Oregon, Montana and Delaware. Most basic orders ship in two business days, but that is not arrival, and options or order questions can extend timing. Do not rely on an unconfirmed new pair for a fixed passport or travel appointment.

COUPON20: the second-pair details
Buy at least two complete pairs in the same order to save 20% on one lowest-priced eligible pair, including selected upgrades but excluding prescription-strength charges. The same savings apply automatically; the code does not add a second discount, and Fast Cash does not stack. Current checkout uses one prescription per order. Contact us first for different prescriptions or wearers.
Custom glasses are final sale for change of mind, customer-selected fit and entered prescription/PD errors; published remedies apply to qualifying lab errors, defects and shipping damage. Read the return policy.
Two useful questions
Are the glasses rules different in Delaware?
These are federal U.S. passport photo requirements, not a Delaware-only rule.
Can I edit the glasses out of my photo?
No. Follow the State Department’s unedited-photo requirement and take an appropriate new photo.
